News and Changes

By Wes Roberts

You know how when you were growing up, you would go to family get together and there would always be a food smörgåsbord?  I mean, so many great things to eat like fried chicken and peas and pies and on and on and on.  But there was this one dish that was always HORRIBLE!  You would look at for a couple of seconds and you still couldn't figure out what it was but because Aunt Betty made it you had to eat it.  For me that dish was rutabagas.  Yes!  I detested them and had no idea why someone would want to eat something that was that bad!  Over time though, your taste-buds change and you begin to really really like them.  I know, rutabagas are a hard thing for many to really really like.

I say that to say this.  Things are changing and my taste-buds are feeling the flavor of something new and exciting!  For the longest time I struggled with what aspects of photography I loved, what parts I tolerated and what parts I detested; yes not every photographer enjoys all kinds of taking pictures.  I've noticed over the years my strengths and weaknesses behind the camera and what works and does not.  Especially in the past couple of months I've found myself leaning in a direction that I never really cared about, but in getting to know these guys/girls I've found them to be full of excitement and willing to try something new.  Senior photography has been that "rutabaga" that I stayed away from for so long, but over time and as the way my shooting style has changed, I've grown to get excited about it!

Finally saying it.  I will be taking the business into a new direction by adding Senior Photography.  I am so pumped for the 2014 Seniors I'm working with because the images that we are getting have been stunning and are definitely capturing the uniqueness of who they are.  Everyone wants to be different but many are to afraid, but different is what makes us stand out and become recognized.  Our Seniors are willing to step out and shine.  Because of the way we tailored our sessions to really showcase who the seniors are, I'm only opening a limited number of slots.  If you are interested in claiming one of these slots, CONTACT US and lets get to planning!

Sooo...over the next couple of weeks and months you'll notice things changing on the website as we begin to tailor our photography to meeting the needs of our awesome brides and seniors.

Kimberly & JJ - Savannah, GA Wedding Photograher

There is something about old cities that is so intriguing.  In my mind, it's kind of like I want to be an explorer who just happens to discover this old piece of the city that no one knows about, but it's totally not like that.  So we just settle for the trolley tour which is lame, I know!  Savannah is definitely a place to explore, especially with its rich history dating back to the 1700's.  But we weren't just there to explore and site see.

Out trip to Savannah was to photograph Kimberly and JJ's wedding.  When the two of them were dating JJ felt it was time to ask that  special question.  So on a planned trip to Savannah, he decided to ask Kimberly to be his wife.  What a perfect place.  As the location scouting began they found a quaint little park (one of 22) within the city called Washington Square, which was a perfect location.  As the afternoon sun glowed around the area, the greens of spring and the colors of the surrounding houses sprang to life.  Thank you to Kimberly and JJ for allowing us to join them on their wedding day.

PS. keep a look out for JJ's Harlem Shake Video!

I remember when I first started photography.  I was a no nothing college student taking a couple of classes for fun, which was anything but!  I can remember having prints critiqued and rejected by my instructor, at times, a heart breaking hit that would warp the idea of what I thought was a good [...]
